Blocked Drains
Can tree roots break sewer pipes?
Yes — tree roots are one of the leading causes of sewer damage. Roots seek out moisture and nutrients and enter through tiny cracks or joints, then expand as they grow, eventually cracking or blocking the pipe.
If you have large trees near your sewer line and experience recurring blockages, a camera inspection is the best way to confirm root intrusion. Options include root cutting, hydro jetting and pipe relining to seal the pipe against future intrusion.
