Hot Water
How long should a hot water system last?
Most electric and gas storage systems last around 8–12 years, while continuous flow and quality heat pumps can last longer with servicing. Water quality, usage and maintenance all affect lifespan.
If your system is over 10 years old and starting to leak, run out of hot water quickly or lose pressure, replacement is usually more economical than repeated repairs — and a modern unit will be far more efficient.
